How do I place a Pre-Order?
Visit our website and head to the Christmas tab. Select Pre-Orders to view our range of Christmas proteins. You will be required to pay a $5 deposit for each protein you wish to purchase. The remaining amount will be paid when collecting your order ...
Can I change my pre order pick up?
Yes you can change your pre-order up to 24 hours before pick up. Please email hello@farro.co.nz
What date is close off for pre orders?
There is no close off for pre orders. However your pre order must allow for a 48 hour lead time.
Are all your turkeys frozen?
Yes most of our turkeys are frozen and depending on the turkey size will take 2-3 days to defrost. Fresh turkeys are available to purchase the week of Christmas.
Do you sell fresh turkeys?
Yes we do sell a limited range of fresh NZ turkeys that are available in store only. Fresh turkeys are not available for pre-order. You are able to purchase fresh turkeys in store the week of Christmas.
Is the Ham cooked?
Yes! All hams are cooked and ready to eat.
When I pre-order - can I pay in advance?
No. Full payment cannot be made in advance due to variance with weighted products. However, a $5 deposit per product is taken at the time or pre-ordering.
What allergens do the turkey roasts contain?
Traces of soy, dairy and gluten in all turkey roasts (there's no gluten in the Turkey Roast Blood Orange & Cranberry, but please note it is prepared in a kitchen that handles gluten). Canter Valley turkeys are Gluten Free.
What turkey products are gluten free?
All of the Canter Valley are gluten free, as well as our Farro Cranberry and Blood orange roast.
How long does it take to defrost a turkey?
Minimum 2 days in the fridge. 3 days for whole birds and turducken but note it does depend on the size of the turkey.
Can I request that I pick up my pre-ordered turkey on a specific day?
Yes, you can specify your preferred pick up date at checkout.

You can pick up your pre-ordered Christmas meats and seafood at any of our 7 stores. Just head to the butchery department and give them your name. They will provide you with your pre-order and a $5 pre paid token which can be redeemed at checkout. To ...
Are your turkeys organic?
No, we're unable to source organic turkeys in New Zealand.
Are your turkeys free-range?
Yes, all of our turkeys are free-range or free-farmed and NZ raised.
How do I know what size turkey to buy?
We recommend that you allow for 500g per person.
If I have leftover ham what should I do?
If you don't manage to finish your ham there's no need to worry. Soak a ham bag or tea towel in 5 cups of water and two tablespoons of vinegar, wring out any excess moisture then wrap your ham tightly and pop it in the fridge.
Do you glaze hams in-store?
No, we don't offer in-store glazing but we do offer a variety of glazes that can be purchased separately. For any ham purchased over 4kg, you will receive a free Farro ham glaze.
Why was I charged a different price than expected?
Weighed items such as hams and turkeys may vary slightly at checkout. We endeavour to get as close to your requested weight as possible, but charges may vary slightly depending on the size of the ham or turkey
Can I request that I pick up my Pre-order on a specific day?
Yes you can specify your preferred pick up date at the online checkout. Pre-orders are available for pick up from 1st of November through to the 23rd of December.
Are your hams Gluten Free?
Yes all our hams are gluten free, raised in New Zealand and free farmed. When the piglet is born, it hangs out in the field with its mum. Then when it is weaned, it is shifted inside to a large barn with lots of hay (free farmed) or allowed to roam ...

Yes, all of our hams are free-range or free-farmed.
Does your ham contain nitrates?
Yes they do, but only small amounts.
Do you sell organic ham?
No sorry, we are unable to source organic ham in New Zealand but we do stock NZ-raised free-farmed ham.
How do I know what size ham to buy?
We recommend that you allow for 400g per person for bone in hams and 250 grams for champagne or bone-drawn hams.
